This picture postcard fishing village with a gurgling stream dancing along the main street to the beach, is snuggled in the rolling hills in East Devon’s beautiful coastal scenery and drips nostalgia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The horseshoe beach is the heart of the village, a natural sun trap surrounded by glistening white cliffs. It has clean waters, rock pools to explore at low tide, beach huts to hire, and beach cafes serving hearty breakfasts and home made treats. The cliffs form part of the South Devon coastal footpath and this area of the coast is a World Heritage Site due to the important fossils found here.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beer is famous for its lace, stone and smuggling and is an ideal resort for families, couples and friends getting together. Enjoy the beach cafes, a fishing trip, a stroll along the coastal footpath or a Devon cream tea! Visit Pecorama or the Beer Quarry Caves or the regency towns of Lyme Regis or Sidmouth.\u00a0 The City of Exeter just a 40 minute drive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beer is the sort of place that once discovered people fall in love with and return year after year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beer sits on the SW Coastal footpath within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is part of The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site<\/span><\/p>\n

Local Shopping<\/strong><\/span>
\n There is an excellent selection of pretty local shops in Beer where you can purchase all of your daily needs (village store -opens late,\u00a0 Post Office, off-licence, superb bakery,\u00a0 wonderful deli, selection of tearooms, restaurants, pharmacy, art galleries and antique shops.\u00a0 The shops and eateries specialise in fresh local produce \u2013 why not shop when you arrive!<\/span><\/p>\n

\n Beer is blessed with a grand selection of places to eat to appeal to all tastes and pockets, all within a couple of minute\u2019s stroll of Beachcomber!<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach Caf\u00e9s<\/strong> – good local food at reasonable prices. Kennos offers pasta and paninis on the beach, selected evenings in peak season. Take your own wine and plastic glasses.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beer Fish and Chips<\/strong> \u2013 Takeaway and eat in the cottage garden or sit down in the cafe<\/span><\/p>\n

Woozies Deli<\/strong> \u2013 Great pies and pasties for a picnic,\u00a0 and super choice of deli items<\/span><\/p>\n

The Dolphin<\/strong> \u2013.Good pub food \u2013 and do try the breakfasts with newspapers<\/span><\/p>\n

The Anchor<\/strong> \u2013 The beer garden overlooks Beach and has live music and BBQ\u2019s in peak season. Also restaurant and bar meals.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Masons Arms<\/em><\/strong><\/a> , Branscombe\u00a0\u00a0 Good pub food, touristy and a bit expensive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pecorama Model Railway and Gardens<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 light model railway to ride\u00a0 and gardens to explore, perched on the hillside above Beer and just five mins walk from Beachcomber cottage.\u00a0 PECORAMA has something to offer every member of the family<\/span><\/p>\n

Beer Quarry Caves<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 Part of England’s only Natural World Heritage Site!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2026..and do visit the Jurassic Park Heritage Centre on the Beach and maybe book a rockpool safari.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Donkey Sanctuary<\/a> to see and adopt rescued donkeys from around the world. We have adopted Timothy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Crealy<\/a> – much loved adventure and theme park for children up to about 14 years<\/span><\/p>\n

Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre<\/a> – for fossil hunting<\/span><\/p>\n

Exeter\u00a0is an interesting city and is a 40 minute drive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Public Transport<\/strong><\/span>
\n Jurassic Coast double decker bus (X53) this is an excellent service, and means you can leave the car behind, and enjoy the coastal views The service runs from Exeter to Poole and passes through Beer for either direction. The service currently operates every 2 hrs 7 days a week.<\/span><\/p>\n

The nearest railway station is Axminster\u00a04 miles away<\/span><\/p>\n

The nearest Airport is Exeter a 30minute drive.<\/span><\/p>\n
