A tranquil, pretty character cottage on the edge of Tideswell – perfect for families  and friends, a great base to explore the peak district.

Butterfield Cottage, couldn’t be better placed for a self catering holiday for 6 in the Peak District National Park. It lies in the heart of the national park in a quiet spot on the edge of Tideswell, just a 5-10 minute stroll from shops, pubs,restauants and tearooms.  It provides bright and airy accommodation and is stylishly decorated throughout  to create a comfortable and relaxing environment.It has some of the best views in Tideswell across the dale.

The cottage has a sunny outdoor sitting and dining area to the front..To the rear is an enclosed garden area with seating, a washing line and bike storage, cross the rear lane to the free car park and play area..

Tideswell’s a bustling conservation village. It is has a  reputation as a ‘foodie’ village with it’s own brand ‘Taste Tideswell’ for local produce and annual food festival. St Johns Church is known as The Cathedral of the Peak and is worth a visit. Bakewell, Buxton and the Castleton caverns are close by as is Chatsworth House and Haddon hall. Alton Towers is a 40 min drive.

Butterfield Cottage is suited to families (children 4 and over) and groups getting together, and for those who enjoy walking, culture and outdoor pursuits. It is an ideal base for exploring the peak district.

The cosy sitting room overlooks the enclosed front patio and has comfy sofas and a log burner set into a Derbyshire stone fireplace.

 

It’s fully centrally heated butterfield loungeand has a 43 inch SMART LED Panasonic TV and  good fibre Wi Fi speeds. Bring your NETFLIX code...

The dining table seats 6 and through patio doors overlooks the secure sunny walled rear garden.

The kitchen is well equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, hob and oven, microwave, ironing facilities and a larder fridge.

Upstairs the bathroom is bright and airy comprising a wash basin, lavatory and bath with shower over and mirror.

Upstairs are 3 bedrooms, two double bedrooms and a twin room. The twin room has an en-suite shower room  with hand basin, mirror,  and lavatory.

The cottage gardens catch the sun all day and the rear garden is secure for dogs. The rear garden is walled and gated and has steps up to a raised patio area with garden furniture. The steps have a handrail but may not be suitable for very young children or those with walking difficulties. Behind the cottage is a grassy lane leading to the children’s play area, free car park and a grassed area suitable for dog walking..
A covered passageway with lockable door leads from the back through to the front garden and this area is suitable for storing bikes. The front garden is fenced and gated and catches sun late into the evening. It has an outside dining and sitting area and is a great spot to sit and sip a drink while taking in the super views across the dale.

Car parking is unrestricted on street in the vicinity  or use the free car park just behind the cottage.

The tariff includes Wi-Fi, central heating, power, logs for the log burner for your first night during the cooler months October to May and bed linen and towels.  Dogs are most welcome at a cover charge of £35 each per stay. Arrival is from 3pm and departure by 10 am. Early check in at 1pm or late check out at 12 noon is often available on request at £30 each.
