BEACHCOMBER
COTTAGE
West
View,
Beer,
Devon EX12
3HY
Beer captured our hearts and imaginations
over 25 years ago and we have been regular visitors ever since.
This picturesque fishing village is snuggled in the rolling
hills in East Devon's beautiful coastal scenery and is recommended
by Sunday Times travel writer Nick Redman (article at end
of page).

The
horseshoe beach is a suntrap and has interesting rockpools
to explore. The cliffs form part of the South Devon coastal
footpath and this area of the coast is a World Heritage Site
due to the important fossils found here.
Beer
is famous for it's lace, stone and smuggling and is an ideal
resort for families with a safe clean beach and beach huts
for hire. Enjoy the beach cafes, a fishing trip, a stroll
along the coastal footpath or a devon cream tea!

2007: The Agony and the Ecstasy
-Nick Redman, Travel Writer recommends Beer as his favorite
holiday destination, Sunday Times 23 December 2007
Last
summer I fell in love with this postcard pretty coastal village.
A cottage rented by a sister came with a spare room so I bumbled
down by train. A heat wave hovered, the channel spangled,
and the trip dripped like distilled nostalgia: bees murmuring
around the beer glasses in the garden of the Anchor Inn: icecream
in deckchairs on the pebbles, and the kids kayaking to catch
fish for BBQ's with wine later, below the cliffs and the stars
